Pope Announces New Bishop for the Richmond Diocese

With great joy, the Diocese of Richmond announces the Holy Father, Pope Francis, appointed the Most Reverend Berry C. Knestout, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, as the thirteenth bishop of Richmond.
The Mass of Installation will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on January 12, 2018 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Richmond.

National Collections for Hurricane Maria and Mexico Earthquakes

In light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria and the multiple earthquakes in Mexico, the Office of National Collections has set up funds for both disasters to receive any contributions individuals wish to make through Catholic Charities USA (Hurricane Maria) and Catholic Relief Services (Mexico Earthquake). The Courthouse Players present “Sister Act”

This is the feel-good musical comedy based on the hit 1992 film. Filled with powerful gospel music and a truly moving story, Sister Act is a tribute to the universal power of friendship.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter

Help us to support the Bishop’s Initiative on marriage! Couples who attend Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekends not only rediscover the joy, intimacy and romance in their relationships, but they also become more active in their parish. Together, we are making marriages, families and our Church stronger and healthier.

The next local Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend is Mar. 31-Apr. 2, 2017 in Herndon, VA. Early sign-up is recommended.

Intergenerational Faith Formation

Our first Intergenerational Faith Formation program of the 2016-2017 year will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30th immediately after Mass. Our theme for this year is the Bible. Justice and Peace Craft Sale

It is time once again for the Justice and Peace Committee’s craft sale Oct. 16th and 23rd after Mass. There will be local homemade items and fair trade commodities made by women in South America. Please come by to shop and support this important ministry. Christmas is not far away!
