Sacraments
Eucharist
The Church of Francis de Sales celebrates the Eucharist Sundays at 11 a.m., Holy days at 5:30 p.m., and Mondays and Tuesdays at 9 a.m. During the summer months, from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, Mass also is celebrated Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. A nursery is available during Sunday Mass for children ages newborn to 5 years old.
 
Baptism
To celebrate the sacrament of baptism, please contact the parish office at least one month in advance.
 
Marriage
To celebrate the marriage, please contact the parish office at least six months in advance.
 
Sacrament of Annointing
The Church of Francis de Sales celebrates this sacrament twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, and by appointment.
 
Sacrament of Reconciliation
The Church of Francis de Sales celebrates this sacrament during the Easter and Christmas seasons and by appointment.
 
Confirmation
Preparation for the sacrament of confirmation is a two-year process. The Church of Francis de Sales invites 10th grade students to participate in the program and receive the sacrament as 11th grade students.
 
Catechumens
The Rite of Christian Initiative for Adults invites people of all ages who are interested in becoming Catholics to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

Rev. John Boddie is pastor of the Church of Francis de Sales and the Church of the Visitation, which is located in Topping, Va., in Middlesex County.
 
Born in Newport News July 11, 1958, Father Boddie attended the city's public primary schools and graduated from Peninsula Catholic High School in 1977. He graduated from St. Meinrad College in 1983 with a bachelors degree in history. He graduated from St. Mary's Seminary and University in 1988 with a masters of divinity. He was ordained May 14, 1988, as a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. In June 1997, Father Boddie was appointed as pastor for the Church of Francis de Sales.
 
He succeeded Father Dougher, the founding pastor who served until October 1989, and Father Dan Bond, who served as pastor until June 1997.
